Delete your KleptoCook account

You can delete your KleptoCook account in the app or on this page. Either way it is deleted 24 hours after you ask, and you can keep it if you sign back in before then.

In the app

Open KleptoCook and sign in.
Open Settings from your Profile tab and scroll to the bottom.
Choose Delete account and confirm.

What is deleted and what is kept

Deleted: your email address, password, the link to Apple or Google if you signed in with them, profile and photos, comments, likes, ratings, saves, receipts, prices you saved from shops' websites, feature suggestions and votes, notification tokens, blocks, usage-limit records, your sign-ups to our release and beta lists made with the same email address, and your account ID in our security log.
Kept, not linked to you: prices you scanned, stock and nutrition figures, products, pack sizes and brand names you added.
Kept without your name: the text of recipes you published, taken down; reports you made, deleted after 2 years.
Kept for a limited time: our hosting provider's logs, up to 7 days; a beta sign-up whose Google account is on our Android test, 30 days, so that we can take it off the test; our security log and moderation records about your content, deleted automatically after 2 years.

Can't sign in?

Use Forgot password? above to reset it with a code. If you made your account with Apple or Google, use Sign in with Apple or Sign in with Google above. Or email support@kleptocook.com from the address on your account and we will delete it for you. We reply within one month.

KleptoCook contains other people's recipes, comments and prices as well as yours. There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour.

No abuse, harassment, threats or hate towards anybody, in a recipe, a comment, a name or a photo.
Nothing sexual, violent or illegal, and no advice that could hurt somebody who follows it.
No spam, and no pretending to be someone else or to be KleptoCook.
Publish only recipes and photos you have the right to share, and credit where a recipe came from.
Prices and products you add must be real: what you actually saw, at the shop you say.

No tolerance for objectionable content

There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour. Anything that breaks the rules above can be hidden or removed without notice, and the account behind it suspended or closed. Made-up prices lose the KleptoPoints they earned.

Reporting and blocking

Every recipe, comment and profile can be reported, and any person can be blocked, from where you see them. What you report is hidden from you at once. Every report is looked at by a person within 24 hours.

What you publish

Your recipes stay yours. By publishing one you let KleptoCook show it to other people and let them save a copy. You can unpublish it at any time. Prices, stock and nutrition figures you contribute become part of the shared database and stay in it, without your name, if you delete your account. Prices you save from shops' websites are deleted with your account.

What the app tells you

Calories, nutrition and prices are estimates from shared data and can be wrong. They are not medical or dietary advice, and they are no substitute for the label on the packet, least of all for an allergy.

Your account

You need to be 18 or over. You can delete your account in Settings at any time; it is removed after 24 hours, and if you sign in again within that day you can keep it.
